Want to speak at TEDxNorthCentralCollege?
We’re looking for North Central College alumni, faculty, current students, and other members of the Cardinal family to share “ideas worth spreading.” We encourage applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds, fields, disciplines and experiences. Talks will be curated around the 2018 theme of “Know Wonder.” Applications will be reviewed starting February 22nd, and will be accepted until March 26th. Here’s what to expect:
Brainstorm & Research
Before applying, please see the SPEAKER INFO GUIDE to get familiar with the TEDx style, understand the format, and learn how to craft your idea into something amazing.
Our TEDx speaker selection team will choose and curate a small group of diverse and interdisciplinary talks that best fit our theme and the TEDx format. Alumni/Guest talks will be no more than 12 minutes in length, while current undergraduate students will be given 3 minutes to “pitch” their idea. After the initial application, potential speakers may be asked to present a live or recorded version of their talk before final selection is made.
Refine & Rehearse
A TEDx event is a collaborative process. If you are selected to speak, you will be supported by a great team that will help you prepare and refine your talk. Expect feedback, advice and encouragement throughout the process. We chose you because you are the expert in your idea – we’ll help you refine your content and finesse your delivery so that you shine on the TEDx platform.
